ராஜிந்தர் வத்ராவின் குடும்பம்: ராபர்ட் வதேரா (Robert Vadra / Robert Wadhera), சோனியா மெய்னோவின் மறுமகன், அதாவது பிரியங்காவின் கணவர். சோனியா கத்தோலிக்க மாப்பிள்ளைக்குத் தான் கட்டிக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று தேர்ந்தெடுத்து கல்யாணம் செய்து வைத்தார். இவரது தந்தை ராஜேந்திர வத்ரா (Rajendra Vadra) மொரதாபாதைச் சேர்ந்தவர், பித்தளை, மரம், கைவினைப்பொருட்கள் வியாபாரம் செய்து வந்தார். இவரது குடும்பம், சியால்கோட், பாகிஸ்தானிலிருந்து வந்தது. தாயார் மெக்டொனாக் (née McDonagh) மௌரீன் வத்ரா (Maureen Vadra) அயல்நாட்டவர், ஸ்காட்லாந்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர். இவர் எப்படி அந்நியப் பெண்ணைத் திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டார் என்று தெரியவில்லை. இருப்பினும், கத்தோலிக்கப் பெண்ணை மணம் செய்து கொண்டபிறகு, கிருத்துவராகியிருக்கிறார். ராபர்ட் வத்ராக்கு, ரிச்சர்ட் மற்றும் மிச்செல் என்ற இரண்டு கூடப் பிறந்தவர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள்.
சோனியாவின் குடும்பம்: சோனியா மெய்னோ, ஸ்டெபானோ மைனோ (Stefano Maino) மற்றும் பாவ்லோ மைனோவிற்கு (Paola Maino) பிறந்தவர். 1968ல் ராஜிவ் காந்தியை மணந்து கொண்ண்டார். ராகுல் (1970) மற்றும் பிரியங்கா (1972) என்ற இருவர் பிறந்தனர். 1983ல் இந்திய பிரஜையானார். அதாவது 1968 முதல் 1983 வரை 15 ஆண்டுகள் இத்தாலிய பிரஜையாகவே இருந்துள்ளார். 1991ல் ராஜிவ் கொல்லப்பட்டப் பிறகு, அரசியலே வேண்டாம் என்று ஒதுங்கி இருந்தார். இருப்பினும் 1998ல் காங்கிரஸின் தலைவரானார். இங்கு பிரியங்கா, வத்ராவுடன் தொடர்பு ஏற்பட்டதால் தான், இக்குடும்பங்கள் சேருகின்றன.
இத்தாலிய வீட்டில், இத்தாலி நண்பர்கள் நடத்திய பார்ட்டியில் சந்திந்துக் கொண்ட வத்ராவும், பிரியங்காவும்: ராபர்ட் வதேரா பிரியங்காவை 13 வயதில் (1985ல்) சந்தித்ததாகவும், 1997ல் கல்யாணம் செய்துகொண்டதாகவும் இப்பொழுது சொல்கிறார்கள்[1]. தில்லியில், ஒரு இத்தாலியக் குடும்பத்தின் இல்லத்தில் ராபர்ட் பிரியங்காவை சந்தித்தாராம். தில்லி பிரிடிஷ் பள்ளியில் அவர்களுக்குப் பொதுவான நண்பர்கள் இருந்தார்களாம். ஜீசஸ்-மேரி காலேஜில் பிரியங்கா படித்தாராம். அந்த இத்தாலிய வீட்டில், அவர்களுடைய இத்தாலிய நண்பர்கள் ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்த பார்ட்டியில் இருவரும் சந்தித்துக் கொண்டார்களாம்[2]. மௌரீன் முதலில் தான் வழக்கமாக செல்லும் தில்லி சேகர்ட் ஹார்ட் சர்ச்சில் திருமணம் செய்ய ஆசைப் பட்டார்[3]. ஆனால், பிரியங்கா கத்தோலிக்கராக மதம் மாறினால் தான் திருமணம் செய்ய முடியும் என்று சர்ச்சின் பாதிரி சொல்லிவிட்டாராம்[4]. ரைஹான் என்ற மகனும், மிரியா என்ற மகளும் உள்ளார்கள்.
ராபர்ட் பிரியங்காவை கல்யாணம் செய்து கொண்டது ராஜிந்தருக்குப் பிடிக்கவில்லை: ராப்ர்ட் பிரியங்காவை திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டது, ராஜேந்திர வத்ராவுக்குப் பிடிக்காதலால், தனியாக வந்துவிட்டதாக சொல்லப்படுகிறது. மேலும் தனது தந்தை ராஜேந்திர வத்ரா மற்றும் சகோதரர் ரிச்சர்ட், தனது பெயரை உபயோகித்து பலன்களைப் பெறுகிறார்கள் என்று 2001ல் வெளிப்படையாக, ஒரு அறிக்கையை விடுத்தார்[5]. பதிலுக்கு ராஜேந்திர வத்ரா அவமதிப்பு வழக்கு தொடருவேன் என்று மிரட்டினார். “இந்த இத்தாலிய மாபியாவைக் கண்டு நான் ஒன்றும் பயப்படவில்லை”, என்று இவர் கூறியுள்ளார்[6]. இவ்வாறு வெளிப்படையாக பேசியது, சோனியாவிக்குப் பிடிக்கவில்லையோ என்னமோ?
வத்ரா குடும்பத்தில் தொடர்ந்து ஏற்பட்ட சோகங்கள்: தனது சகோதரி மிச்செல் தில்லி-ஜெய்பூர் சாலை விபத்தில் ஏப்ரல் 2001ல் இறந்தபோது கண்டுகொள்ளவில்லை என்று சொல்லப்படுகிறது[7]. செப்டம்பர் 2003ல் சகோதரன் ரிச்சர்ட் வத்ரா தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டபோதும் கண்டுகொள்ளவில்லை[8]. ஏப்ரல் 2009ல் தனது தந்தையும் தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டார். மர்மமான முறையில் இறந்து கிடந்த அவரது உடல்[9] யூசுப் சராயில் உள்ள ஒரு விருந்தினர் மாளிகை அறையில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டது[10]. இவரின் இறுதி சடங்கில் ராபர்ட் வத்ரா, பிரியங்கா, சோனியா எல்லோரும் கலந்து கொண்டார்கள்[11]. இவ்வாறு எட்டு வருடங்களில் தந்தை, சகோதரன், சகோதரி என்று மூவரும் மறைந்தனர். இது நேருவின் உறவினர்கள் மர்மமாக இறந்தது போலிருக்கிறது.
அதிகாரத்தில் மிதக்கும் வத்ரா: தந்தை-சகோதரர் இறந்த பிறகு தான், இவர் மீதான புகார்கள் அதிகமாயின. அவர்கள் உயிரோடு இருக்கும் போது, அவர்கள் மீது, இவரும், ஏன் காங்கிரஸ்காரர்களும் புகார் சொன்னார்கள். இவர் தனது அரசியல் தொடர்பு அதிகாரத்தை உபயோகப்படுத்துவதில்லை, துஷ்பிரயோகம் செய்வதில்லை என்று சொல்லமுடியாது. ஜனாதிபதி, பிரதம மந்திரி போன்றோருக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும் SPG பாதுகப்பு ஏன் தனது மனைவிக்கு 26-09-2005லிருந்து கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டும், விமானநிலையங்களில், இவர் சென்று வரும்போது, எந்தவ்வித சோனைகளுக்கும் உட்படாமல் விலக்கு ஏன் கொடுக்கப்படவேண்டும்[12] என்று இவர் நினைப்பதில்லை போலும்! அதுமட்டுமல்லாது, எப்படி ஹரியானா அரசு, அரசு நிறுவனங்கள், வங்கிகள் எல்லாமே வத்ராவுக்கு உதவுகின்றன என்று கேட்டு, எந்த காங்கிரஸ்காரரும் புகார் செய்யவில்லை. பிறகு வத்ரா எப்படி, தனது குடும்பத்தைப் பகைத்துக் கொண்டு, இவ்வாறான செயல்களை செய்ய வேண்டும்?
திடீரென்று வத்ராவின் செல்வம் அதிகமானது: சாதாரண வியாபாரியாக இருந்த இவருக்கு பல கம்பெனிகள், சொத்துகள் என்று திடீரென்று பெருகிக் கொண்டு வந்தது.
- ஆர்டெக்ஸ் (Artex) என்ற கம்பெனி நகை மற்றும் கைவினைப்பொருட்களை ஏற்றுமதி செய்து வருகிறாது..

- ரியல் எர்த் எஸ்டேட்ஸ் பிரவேட் லிமிடெட் (Real Earth Estates Pvt Ltd)
- ஸ்கை லைட் ரியால்டி பிரவேட் லிமிடெட் (Sky Light Realty Pvt Ltd) – இதில் தாயார் மௌரீன் வத்ரா டைரக்ட்ராக உள்ளார்.
- இந்த கம்பெனிகள் டி.எல்.எப். என்ற கம்பெனியிடமிருந்து, நிலம் வாங்க முன்பணம் வாங்கியுள்ளன.
- ஹில்டன் கார்டன் இன் (Hilton Garden Inn) என்ற ஹோட்டல், ஸ்கை லைட் ரியால்டி பிரவேட் லிமிடெட்கு சொந்தமானது.
- புளூ பிரீஸ் ட்ரேடிங் ( Blue Breeze Trading)
விவசாய நிலங்களை வாங்கி, அவற்றை ஐடி, எஸ்.இ.இஜெட் போன்ற கம்பனிகளுக்கு விற்பதுதான் இந்தகம்பனிகளின் வியாபாரம். இந்தந்த இடங்களில் IT, SEZ, ETP முதலியவை வரும் என்பது, முன்னமே தெரியும் என்பதனால், அந்தந்த இடங்களை முன்னமே வாங்கிவைத்து, குறிப்பிட்ட கம்பெனிகளுக்கு விற்று கோடிகணக்கில் லாபம் சம்பாதித்து வருகின்றன.

[5] In January 2002, Robert Vadra placed ads in newspapers, declaring that he had nothing to do with his father, Rajinder, and brother, Richard, and that any attempts by them to gain favours by pretending to act on his behalf should be disregarded. The notice was issued on Robert’s behalf by advocate Arun Bhardwaj. The Congress directed all its CMs, PCC bosses and CLP leaders to let it be known to “one and all” that Robert Vadra had severed ties with his father and brother, and “no favour sought by them in Robert’s name should be entertained.” It is believed that Robert’s decision to snap ties with his father and brother followed reports that Richard had approached a Congress CM over a contract for a major project, using Priyanka’s name. While Robert and Priyanka attended Michelle’s funeral and shared the family’s grief, no attempt was apparently made to resolve the family feud.

[11] Rajinder Vadra, the father-in-law of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Room Number 6 of a guesthouse in Yusuf Sarai here this morning, police officials said. Police said his body was found by an employee of a local stall who had gone to serve him tea at 9.30 am. He was taken to Safdarjung Hospital where doctors declared him dead at 11.30 am.
